John Stember (b. 1993) is a photographer shaped by a decade of movement across the Western US, including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and Alaska. Drawn to big country, he’s worked as a wilderness guide and dog musher. He first started journalism at a small town newspaper on the shores of Gichigami in northern Minnesota. His work now focuses on the ways the American West is changing. He’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in Environmental Journalism at the University of Montana. He’s available for assignments around the Western US.
