Boyd’s Station

Project 306.36 is a historical photography archive on rural America created by a non-profit called Boyd’s Station. The idea of the project is to show a snapshot in time in rural America and track how it’s changing over the next 10 to 20 years.

During the summer of 2024, I documented the people and places of Harrison County, Kentucky with a camera in the spirit of the Farm Administration’s pictorial project of the 1930s.

Harrison County is located in the Bluegrass region of central Kentucky. Rolling green hills, winding single lane roads and small farms checker the almost tropical agrarian landscape. The county seat, Cynthiana, is home to about 6,000 people.
